Artist Statement

Long before mass production, civilization was shaped by the hands of metalworkers, stonecutters, and glass artisans. At The Blacksmith Jeweller Mixed Media, Ken tries to honor this rich heritage of hand craftsmanship. By blending traditional blacksmithing techniques with precious metal fabrication, glass, and stone sculpture, they transform raw industrial elements into dimensional, one-of-a-kind wearable art that elevates everyday style.

When I'm not at my jeweler's bench, you'll usually find me outside tending to my bonsai, shaping the landscape, or pulling weeds. Away from the craft, I'm a husband, a father, and a proud grandfather to two boys who bring immense joy into my life.

Artistic Style

Glass is a wonderfully diverse medium for artistic expression. It's ability to be shaped and molded when hot and to reflect and separate light at normal temperatures make it an excellent subject.

When I am making jewelery with precious metals and stone, I often include glass sculpture as a main feature.
