I was born in Switzerland and immigrated to Canada in my twenties.

I am a longtime resident of Delta with a passion for things made out of wood. 20 Years ago my co-workers gifted me a wood lathe. A friend gave me some starting tips and over the years I became a woodturner and I love it.

I mostly use burls from the Pacific Northwest (Cedar or Hemlock). Some of my work includes wood that I find in my community or at the beach (Birch, Maple and Cherry). I also source some of my wood from my son who is a Forrester. I have found that working with these odd pieces and shapes is right up my alley. Each must be assessed individually, to get the best of what it has to offer. This makes my pieces unique, no two pieces are ever exactly alike and may even come from a neighbors' backyard.

I make plates, bowls, vases, burl (coffee) end tables and wood carvings. I also make toy cars, planes, helicopters and tug boats. Some of these are displayed at the Watershed Artworks gallery shop.
