I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Tbilisi, Georgia. Georgia was once a part of the Soviet Union, now an independent country. Georgia is a fascinating country. I invite you all to visit if you have the chance. Enjoy the food, nature, architecture, music and culture of the country. I think the happiest people live there!

I worked as a piano teacher for many years but was excited to explore more of my artistic side when I first learned about silk painting. It quickly became my passion and allowed me to find my inner artist. I can now proudly introduce myself as an artist, silk painter, wife, mother and grandmother. I am continuously developing skills and love to learn new trends in the unique form of art.

It all started with a simple silk painting workshop. After that, I took classes and received formal training offered by the Association of Artists in Moscow, Russia. I learned various techniques and met many other artists. I was so excited about learning this art form that I could not stop painting. My art is now accepted and appreciated around the globe in Canada, the USA, Russia, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. I represented Vancouver, BC in the Silk Road Festival in 2019. I am currently a member of the Burnaby Arts Council and member of Watershed Artworks Society in North Delta.

I currently reside in Burnaby, Beautiful British Columbia, where I hand paint my original silk designs. Childhood memories inspire most of my work. In my art, I reflect on what I see in the world around me. I work hard to translate what I love and feel into images that I create on silk. It is so fulfilling and exciting to see people admire my work.

Susanna Rezgo Silk Art

Susanna Silk Art offers a large selection of one of a kind, original hand-painted and hand-dyed wearable artwork on 100% silk.

Susanna Rezgo designs and creates Unique Artistic hand-painted silk scarves, silk wraps, tops, dresses, cushions, and decorative panels. She is painting on silk using the Batik technique.

In her art, Susanna Rezgo is using different Batik techniques: cold, hot, watercolor, Shibori, and Arashi dyeing techniques. Batik technique is the silk painting technique where designs are applied with outliner or resist.  The resist can be applied cold or hot. The resist keeps dyes within the outlined area of the design. After the artwork is completed and the dye is dry, the silk is steam set for 2-3 hours. This increases the brilliance of the color and allows the dye to permanently bond to the silk. After this, the silk is colorfast and washable. This ensures that any piece that you purchase will keep the shape and color for many years to come and you will always attract attention and compliments of your friends.

To create these pieces Susanna Rezgo uses only high quality 100% natural materials like silk, chiffon, satin, crepe de chine fabrics. The Artwork is hand-painted with brushes and high quality nontoxic French silk Dyes and hot wax. Each piece is an expression of the artist’s emotions and is inspired by nature.  The art is signed by the Artist and can be hand washed.

The images on the artwork, remind you of a picture from the fairytales. These art pieces are made for the individuals who prefer to wear one of a kind, original and artistic clothing and accessories. It is great for every season.
